What is the Science Behind CoolSculpting?

Scientists at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital developed the process of CoolSculpting, which is also called Cryolipolysis. It works because fat cells crystallize (freeze) at a different temperature than normal cells so there is no damage to skin, nerves or other surrounding tissue. More importantly, because these fat cells actually die—rather then just shrink due to dieting—they are eliminated from the body for good.

"The ideal CoolScuplting candidate is in good health and within 20-30lbs of their weight goal."

With just one session you will begin to see results within 4-8 weeks, as the dead fat cells leave your body. The average single session lasts for about 60 minutes and there is no scarring or pain. Most patients only report a gentle cooling and dull pressure around the treated areas. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary. After the procedure, there is no need for recuperation time.

CoolSculpting begins with a one-on-one session with a licensed clinician to determine which parts of your body require reshaping. The clinician will examine all parts of your body from multiple angles and then will create a customized plan for you. The ideal CoolScuplting candidate is in good health and within 20-30lbs of their weight goal. Those above 30lbs of their weight goal can also benefit from CoolSculpting, but they will need additional treatments.
